Season Islands is a game concept developed for a monthly art challenge based on the theme of the four seasons.
The concept is a survival and management game set across four islands, each trapped in an eternal season. Their climates and resources are complementary, forcing the player to carefully manage and connect the islands to survive.
I started with a single island fragmented into four for the storytelling.
From there, I had to define four distinct biomes and give each of them their own visual identity, including a different architectural style.

I also wanted the islands to complement each other through their resources: Spring is a fertile plain for agriculture, Summer is a dry desert rich in minerals, Autumn provides wood and mushrooms, and Winter offers plenty of water, while the cold can be used to preserve food.
